RISO West Coast (Digital Download)

A digital download PDF version of the RISO West Coast catalog of risograph focused printshops, community spaces, publishers, events, zine libraries and shops, published by ANEMONE. (You can find the risograph printed version here, in the Riso Bookstore!)

We’re always telling everyone about all the cool things going on with risograph based printing, zines and small press publishing in the West Coast, including about 200 recommendations. There’s so much happening — so we made a little catalog to be able to hand it to people and say here! This is a place to start! 

We’d just ran out of the first edition at Seattle Art Book Fair 2024 when we met writer and editor Alexander Matthews, who was visiting from California. He volunteered to collaborate on the next version — and besides adding California (!!), this expanded Second Edition of the catalog covers Baja California, Yukon, Alaska and Hawaii in addition to Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. We hope you find some good connection, collaborators, and inspiration.

Take classes on riso basics, animation, zine making, and other workshops. Print your own work at community spaces. Find artist-made zines and books to buy: directly from artists, at shops and festivals. Browse in zine libraries and visit community printshops. Make friends! There’s something riso for you to be part of.

NOTE: This is a digital version of RISO West Coast. RISO Pacific Northwest was was originally risograph printed in a first edition of ~325 in Nov 2023 for Short Run; and sold out in the first six months. The RISO West Coast is volume two of the catalog, and expands to include Baja Californa, California, Yukon, Alaska and Hawaii.
